Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world shared condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
