Tributes Flow for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

Well beyond 14 days subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community continue to honor the pair.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt able to express about his personal sorrow.

"Enough time has gone by that I can finally express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began passing more hours together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, commenting that he could not remember "a single day without mirth".

"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a different tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he understood the human predicament of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Restricted

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to bar the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate placed a security hold on the cases to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" pertaining to the active case.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a official listing citing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Aftermath and Reactions

After the tragedy, public figures offered divergent reactions.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, making provocative remarks that were broadly criticized by several public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the those speaking out last week. Speaking on his podcast, Rogan labeled the comments as "disappointing" and implied they demonstrated a troubling lack of empathy.

Rogan concluded by remarking that an adviser should have intervened when the decision to weigh in on the passing was made.
